#HOKAGE
by Jas Rivera
A post-Valentine Facebook post has
caught the social media frenzy, not due to a cheesy extension Valentine’s Day
post or a big hugot video or photo
but of a Good Samaritan wanting to return a phone someone dropped on the
jeepney she was riding, nonetheless, funny twist.
Christine Guaves, who posted the photo, said in her post, “Nakapulot ako ng cellphone kanina sa jeep. Hinayaan ko siyang nakaopen para kapag may naghanap madali kong masagot para ibalik sa kanya. Hanggang end of shift ko na wala pa ring tumatawag mukhang wala na ata syang pake sa phone na to at ‘di naman android.”
[“I found a cellphone inside the jeep earlier. I did not lock it anymore so that when somebody calls and will ask for it, I can pick up the call and easily bring the phone back to the owner. Though even at the end of my shift, no one was calling it seems like the person doesn’t care anymore of the lost phone.]
Guaves admitted that she wanted to contact the
relatives of the owner already so that she could give the phone back, but when
she looked at the contact list, there was none, not even recent dialed or recent
calls, and even the inbox was empty.
She started tinkering the Jurassic phone's settings and has
put the phone from phone storage to SIM storage. And when she did so, what she
found shocked her and was obviously and sarcastically exhilarated, “When
I've changed it to sim storage, tadaaaaaaa!!! May nakapangalang Babe1, Babe2 at
hindi lang hanggang babe3 bessy hanggang Babe 12 po siya. Natawa talaga ko,
saludo ko sa mayari neto. Malinis ang trabaho at ang galing ng galawan.
Mabuhay! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha #Hokage,” she said on her FB post.
[When I’ve changed it to sim storage, tadaaaaaaa!!! There was a contact named Babe1, Babe2 and not just until babe3, friends, until Babe 12 it is! I laughed so hard, Kudos to the owner of this phone. He has a clear record, good move. Mabuhay! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha #Hokage,”]
Even when she already saw the contact
list, she remained hesitant to contact any of them because there was one in the
contacts named “mahal ko and became
concerned she might make things complicated for those in the contact list so, I
just didn’t contact anyone of them.
The photo is still on her Facebook
account, and it has already been 4 days, yet the unknown owner hasn’t made an
effort to contact the 21-year old.
When asked why has she posted the
photo, she responded that it was because the unit of the phone was archaic, it
is still an old school Nokia and that the contacts was “agaw-atensyon” as she pertained it. And also added that she never
thought that it would go viral.
"Hindi ko inexpect eh. Nagulat at saka natawa, as in natawa talaga ako siguro dala na din na tinutukso ako ng mga kakilala ko"
[I didn't expect it to go this viral. I was shocked and laughed. I really laughed maybe because many, especially those I know are teasing me.]
The post got viral garnering 109K
likes, 29K shares and 22K comments as of today and still is counting from all the netizens who
have found the Facebook post relatable and hilarious.
